The Marcus Margulies Pavilion will form the centerpiece of the Jerusalem Botanical Gardens’ new western entrance. This new visitor center will become part of the circular route that connects all points of interest within the botanical garden and also connect it to the new light rail station of the Givat Ram University Campus, presently under construction. The entrance complex will include two greenhouses: one dedicated to creating a sensory experience around a special flower exhibition, and the second containing a variety of plants and facilities that will showcase the richness of the plant and scientific world associated with it. An entrance space, a small café, restrooms and a covered outdoor classroom complete the building program.
Our practice is responsible for all construction and development plans for the landscaping and the building complex, integrating the requirements for the exhibition spaces and the special climatic requirements of the various plant displays. The pavilions are mostly constructed of steel and glass, complemented by service buildings cladded in natural stone.
